Washington DC
We didn’t think we would be able to visit Washington DC; visiting cities in the Whale is pretty difficult. We ended up finding a campground right on the edge of town and it was near a Metro stop to boot! Every morning we would catch the subway into town and spend the day exploring. Two days at the Smithsonian and I’d say we saw about 1/8th of it. We walked nearly 20 miles through the city and museums!
Our arrival in DC just happened to coincide with the Cherry Blossom festival, so the streets were packed with buses of people. Luckily we had a nice quiet campsite to return to and nurse our aching feet!
