Shenandoah / Harpers Ferry

Some pictures from our week in Shenandoah and Harpers Ferry. This was our second time to Shenandoah. The last time we visited it was early summer and the park was full of green leaves, flowers, and people. When we got to the campground this march only 20 of the 150+ campsites were taken. It was a very different park - Spring was just on the edge of blooming, rain and fog came in and out every day. It was very peaceful and reminded me a lot of a saying my mom would say often when I was a kid; “April showers bring May flowers”

Next we went North to Harpers Ferry in Eastern West Virginia. Harpers Ferry is a historic town that has been almost perfectly preserved by the National Park Service. It is the halfway point on the Appalachian Trail, and was a major player in the Civil War. During the war it changed hands from Union to Confederate 8 times!

It was a lot of fun to walk the street, and take in the history. Almost every building has been preserved as a mini museum. The sun finally came out too! Scroll down to enjoy some photos!
